The Latest "Lost" News Plus More Movie Casting
- We'll learn why got Jack got his tatoos, more about Locke's accident that put him in a wheelchair, and Desmond's ability to see the future, which one of the producers says factors "big time" into the balance of this season.
- The February 7 episode is about Juliet.
- There will be more to story of the hatch implosion after Desmond turned the key.
- When asked if Kate and Sawyer will escape from the Others island, one of the producers reminded that The Others do have a submarine.
- As for who Jacob is and why Jack was not on his list, the producer noted that character names on the show are not assigned without a reason. Is this a reference to the Biblical Jacob?

For the movie: Gwyneth Paltrow (an American doing an Australian accent), Heath Ledger (an Australian doing a British accent), and Paris Hilton (hopefully not having to speak too many big words).

Casting "Lost - The Movie" Continues
Tuesday, November 14, 2006
"Lost - The Movie"
Well, since there are no new episodes for me to report on until February 7, 2007, I thought I would play Hollywood casting agent over the next 12 weeks and tell you which major movie stars I think would make up the ultimate cast of our favorite "Lost" characters.
For this week, let's focus on the love triangle of Jack, Kate, and Sawyer.

For "Lost - The Movie":
Tom Cruise, Kate Beckinsale, and Matthew McConaughey.

Check back next week for more "casting news" and any actual show info I may have heard in the meantime!

"I Do" (Season 3, Episode 6)
Best Line: Kate: "Taco night? I don't do taco night!" It just struck me as funny.
Did You Notice?
- The song playing over the opening flashback was Ann-Margaret's "Slowly".
- Same Name Alert: The policeman husband of Kate/Monica was named Kevin. This was also the name of the man first engaged to Jack's wife's Sarah when she had her car accident (although two different characters).
- We shouldn't be surprised to learn Kate was married since this was revealed in Season 1 when she and Sawyer played the "I Never" drinking game.
- When Rousseau's daughter Alex warned Kate that they would kill her boyfriend just like they killed her's was she referring to Karl, the young man originally in Kate's cage?
- What are the Others having Kate and Sawyer work on? As Kate said, "It's big."
- Kate/Monica lived in the Palmetto, Florida, area. A few episodes ago with Sawyer's flashback in prison, he was also in Florida.
- What will be the significance of Locke reading the line "Lift up your eyes and look north" from Mr. Eko's Jesus stick? What's north? The second island?
- Now that Kate and Sawyer have consumated their love ("knocking the boots" seemed too coarse a term), should we be surprised if she ends up pregnant in the near future?
- Could the woman's voice on the intercom have been Alex? It seemed as if Ben wanted Jack to get free so he could witness Kate and Sawyer in their post-coital bliss. But then why give him access to the guns?
- Since Ben was asking about Alex prior to his operation, could he actually be her father?
- Did you hear what Danny the Other said as he stormed out of the operating room? "Shepherd wasn't even on Jacob's list." Who is Jacob? The guy with the patch? Ben's boss?
- Danny referred to a schedule and 2 weeks when talking to Juliet outside.
- "Monica's" mother-in-law Suzanne said she has 4 boys.
- Kevin had promised "Monica" a honeymoon 6 months ago.
- Jack saw Kate and Sawyer on monitor 2.
- When Ben was going under and counting down from 20, he said 8 because the anesthetic knocked him out before he could say 18.
Previews
Okay, 90 days and counting. It'll be here before we know it. With the promise of 16 uninterrupted weeks of shows (not to mention Desmond taking Charlie down), how could we not tune back in? Obviously, ABC wants us to watch "Daybreak" during the next three months with the promise of sneak peaks of the new "Lost" epsiodes. I will update my blog as I get tidbits about the upcoming shows so keep checking back. Otherwise, see you here February 7, 2007.

"The Cost of Living" (Season 3, Episode 5)
Best Line: Locke telling Sayid what Eko's last words were. "We're next." (Chills!)
Did You Notice?
- The funeral ceremony for Colleen was very cult-like. What was with the Others (and Jack) all wearing matching loungewear? The song that played over the loudspeaker was Brenda Lee's "I Wonder".
- When Eko first lifted himself up off the jungle floor and right before the murdered men appeared to him, did you catch the smoke monster flit through the background? A hint of things to come.
- Locke told Desmond "Do not mistake coincidence for fate", which was what Eko said to Locke when they first met.
- The woman selling the Virgin Mary statues who was shot had been one of the "scenes" in the smoke monster when Eko first encountered it last season.
- I liked that Ben pointed out that Juliet resembled Jack's ex-wife Sarah. I noticed the similarity when she was first introduced.
- We found out that when Locke came face to face with the monster in Season 1, he saw a bright light and it was beautiful. Very similar to descriptions given by people who have near death experiences.
- Yemi's corpse disappeared from the plane wreakage just as Jack's dad's corpse had disappeared from his casket.
- I really don't like Paulo and Nicky. Smoke monster? If you're taking requests . . .
- Who is Patch? He had on a Dharma jumpsuit. What will he do now that he's expecting them?
- Should Jack believe Juliet and her cue card video? Or is this just one more mind game?
- Now we know why Eko was building a church on the island. It was the one he owed his brother.
- As was pointed out to me some months ago by one of my loyal readers, the smoke monster may be able to manifest into various forms. I think Yemi's appearance confirms this. Also, if you think about the other manifestations (Jack's dad, Sawyer's wild boar, Kate's horse), they all shared a dark appearance (black suit, black coats on the boar and horse, and Yemi's priest's outfit) not unlike the smoke monster itself. Also, is it possible that there is a good smoke monster (Locke's) and a bad smoke monster (the one that killed the pilot and now Eko)?
The Numbers - 4 8 15 16 23 42 (and sometimes 108 and DEFINITELY 2 and 6)
- Ben said the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 was 2 days after he learned he had a tumor.
- The vaccine shipments usually came every 6 months.
- The Pearl Station had 6 monitors, one for each of the 6 Dharma Initiative stations.
Previews
"The best episode of the year"? We'll see. It is a Kate flashback show. Rumor has it we may see her husband. She had told Sawyer in Season 1 that she was once married. Rousseau's daughter, Alex, makes a reappearance. Kate and Sawyer get all hot and bothered. And Jack dons his surgical scrubs to operate on Ben.
